Aug 02, 2009
The fast growing and multi-function Franc Vila watch collection has been enriched by the FVa 15 Column Regulator Automatic watch, notable for its extremely modern classic hour regulator display.

The timepiece is also characterized by a complex dial, which represents an alliance of brushed metal and sapphire with meteorite, for the first time used by the watch-making house of Franc Villa.

The Franc Vila Fva15 Column Regulator Automatic timepiece features the signature Esprit Unique double ellipse case made of "DieHard Extreme Steel". It is this very form that sets this model apart from other timepieces in the world of luxury watches.

The case of the timepiece
boasts lavish dimensions of 51mm x 42mm, complying with the needs of many watch lovers and offering a perfect display for the complex alternating brushed and polished finishings. The integral case shoulders present a partial protection for the large screw-down crown. The special bezel reveals the twin screws, which contribute to the Esprit Unique's aesthetic value.

Regulator hour displays have always been characterized by the highest degree of excellence in terms of exactitude and readability. Placed in the spotlight by the renowned 18th century English horologists, Harrison and Graham, the regulator time displays have been very important elements in ship navigation. Both watch and clockmakers used them to test the exactitude of their different watches.

Manufactured in the traditional manner, Franc Vila's Column Wheel Regulator Automatic reveals hours in the counter located at 12 o'clock, minutes placed at the center, and small seconds in the counter located at 6 o'clock.

The date is displayed through an aperture in the meteorite upper section. The panes of sapphire, meanwhile, going vertically through the dial, showcase glimpses of the underdial work as well as the wheels, activating the hands.

The watch houses the Franc Vila Caliber FV15, based on a Swiss ETA automatic movement.

The movement of the Franc Vila Fva15 Column Regulator Automatic timepiece features a balance wheel moving back and forth at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of about 42 hours.

The delicately finished movement with its perlage embellishment and exceptional "Gold Concept" central winding rotor is visible through a sapphire crystal window in the case-back.

The Franc Vila FVa15 Column Regulator Automatic watch will be launched as limited series of 88 items. Each piece is accompanied by two straps: the first is the textured rubber strap and the second one is a strap made of crocodile leather.

The timepiece is gracefully joined to the wrist by a DieHard steel deployant buckle, featuring Franc Vila signature. This model is 100-meter water-resistant.
