Offered in a limited series of 300 pieces, the new Fortis watch employs a 40mm two-part case. Rendered in steel, it boasts a sand-blasted matt surface.
At 3 o’clock the case features a screwed steel winding crown with a protection and the brand’s logo. The front side of the model is shielded by a high-grade sapphire crystal.
The screw-down steel case-back, meanwhile, is engraved with the portrait of Yuri Gagarin and Federal Space Agency Roscosmos inscription. The timepiece is built to be 200-meter water-resistant.
The new Fortis Yuri Gagarin Limited Edition watch comes equipped with a black matt dial. It reveals Arabic numerals and hands, inlaid with white Superluminova compound. The display ensures central hours and minutes. Moreover, it offers a centre-stop-second hand, dressed in orange.
The display also provides a 2nd time zone. It is read off from a white and orange central hand and a 24-hour scale, located at the outer ring of the dial. The date indication appears in the aperture at 3 o’clock. The limited edition print is found at 9 o’clock.
Animating the functions is a Swiss made automatic 2893-2 movement. Set with 25 jewels, it operates at a frequency of 28,800 semi-vibrations per hour.
The new Fortis watch is mounted on a black leather strap with contrast stitching. It is delivered in a leather box, embossed with the company’s logo. The model is accompanied by an instruction manual, international warranty card and a certificate of limitation.
