The Zenith novelty has been created in four variations – in steel, in highly resistant black Alchron, and two variations in a combination of black Alchron and pink gold.
Alchron represents a hi-tech alloy widely used in the fields of aeronautical industry and automobile racing. Alchron’s magnetic permeability is 50 times lower than that of steel. The Zenith watchmakers appreciated the material for its supreme corrosion-resistance and impressive mechanical properties, including its Vickers hardness number equal to 210 HV.
The heart of the watch is an automatic column-wheel chronograph with a flyback complication movement – the El Primero 405B. The mechanism is built from 331 parts, including 31 jewels. Operating at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, it gives an advantage of a 50-hour power-reserve.
The 45.5 mm case of the new Zenith watch is 100-meter water-resistant. The face of the watch is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflection treatment on both sides. The transparent sapphire case-back reveals the inner life of the timepiece. The case is coupled with a black alligator-leather strap or a metal bracelet.
The black dial of the new Zenith El Primero Stratos Flyback watch is highly legible. Besides hour, minutes hands and the chronograph hand in the center, the watch displays small seconds at 9 o’clock. The 30-minute counter and the 12-hour counter with the date indicator are found at 3 o’clock and 6 o’clock respectively.
