Dior Introduces Dior VIII Grand Bal Dentelle Watch

Nov 25, 2011
Dior is happy to adorn ladies' wrists with its new Dior VIII Grand Bal Dentelle watch.

An incarnation of luxury and sensuality, the new Dior watch employs a 38mm case, rendered in stainless steel and high-tech black ceramic. Its diamond-set bezel is fitted with a ceramic insert. So is the winding crown at 3 o’clock.

The bezel holds a glare-proofed sapphire crystal. The sapphire glass is also used for the case-back. The water-resistance of the case is assured down to 50 meters.

The new Dior Dior VIII Grand Bal Dentelle watch shows off a black mother-of-pearl dial, highlighted by the sparkle of diamonds.

The overall number of jewels on the model’s surface comes to 278 pieces, with the total weight of 1.05 carats. The display whispers the time through faceted hour and minute hands.

Animating the functions is a self-winding mechanical “Dior Inverse” caliber movement. It incorporates a white gold functional oscillating weight, which can be observed on the dial. With its refined lines, the oscillating weight brings to mind swirling of a ball gown.

Conceived by LAH in collaboration with the manufacture Soprod and the movement designer Frederic Jouvenot, the caliber supplies a 42-hour power reserve.

The new Dior lady’s watch is attached to a black high-tech ceramic bracelet, composed of pyramid-shaped links. It joins to a steel unfolding clasp.
