Dior Christal Mysterieuse Watch

Jun 02, 2009
At Baselworld 2009, Dior unveiled the first Dior Christal watch that accommodated an absolutely unique sapphire crystal mysterious movement elaborated by the Quinting Manufacture. The movement was born due to the joined efforts of five gifted engineers who spent seven years for the project, having invested ten million Swiss francs.

The Dior Christal Mysterieuse watch is clearly inspired by Art Deco and Cinetic Art. It demonstrates highly original geometric inserts of mother-of-pearl and metallization.

The extremely complicated electro-mechanical movement of the watch incorporates six sapphire discs, and three of them, for the date, hour, and minutes, are mobile and the dial is always moving, at a slow rate. You will see one and the same dial just once a month!

The stainless steel case of the new Dior watch measures 44mm in diameter. The bezel of the watch is set with original black sapphire crystal inserts. The case construction features a screw-in transparent sapphire case-back. The timepiece
is coupled with a black alligator strap fitted with a stainless steel ardillon buckle.

The Dior watch is 50-meter water-resistant. As Watches.InfoNIAC.com found out, it will be issued in a limited edition and available for sail starting with autumn 2009. The expected price is 20 000 Euros.
