DeWitt takes the wraps off its new Academia Chronostream watch. Created in mind with young and dynamic individuals, it demonstrates a very chic case combined with a resolutely sporty dial.
Offered in limited edition of 250 pieces, the new DeWitt watch employs a 43mm or 44mm case. It is crafted from rose gold or grade 5 titanium with a black PVD treatment and a black rubber. The flanks and bezel of the model are adorned with DeWitt’s imperial columns pattern. At 3 o’clock, the case features a winding crown. Also in rose gold or grade 5 titanium, it boasts a ring made of blackened titanium and marked with the letter “W”.
The timepiece is also fitted with a sapphire crystal case-back, secured with screws. Its water-resistance is assured down to 30 meters.
Ticking inside the new DeWitt Academia Chronostream watch is a self-winding mechanical DW6005 (ETA 7753) movement. It brings to life hours, minutes and chronograph functions. Studded with 27 jewels, the caliber operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 48-hour power reserve.
The movement controls a sporty speedometer-inspired dial, dressed in blue-grey or opaline-white color tonalities. It is adorned with a refined sunray pattern. The display comprises Arabic numerals, open-worked hour and minute hands, performed in the shape of two-edged swords, and a thin chronograph second hand.
The chronograph functions are also presented through 60-second and 30-minute counters with “radiator grille” in the middle and encircled by an applique. Located at 9 and 3 o’clock respectively, the sub-dials are equipped with small leave-shaped hands.
The new DeWitt watch is accompanied by a matt black rubber strap with a special DeWitt imperial columns pattern or a matt alligator leather strap in different color executions. Each version is secured to the wearer’s wrist by means of a triple-blade folding clasp in blackened PVD grade 5 titanium or in rose gold.
