Oris Presents Darryl O'Young Limited Edition Watches

Feb 12, 2010
Oris is proud to unveil two new watches inspired by Darryl O’Young, the PCCA Double Class A Champion, and the Type 997 Porsche cars he drives in races.

The new Oris Darryl O’Young Limited Edition watches boast a cool, sporty and technical look.

The multi-piece case of the motor sports Oris watches, measuring 43.50 mm and 41.00 mm in diameter, is designed to offer utmost comfort of wearing. The curved-profiled case is sculptured from titanium provided with black DLC-coating to make them remarkably durable and stylish. The domed sapphire glass has inner anti-reflective coating.

The case is coupled with a sporty rubber strap with black integrated flexible lugs for a perfect fit on the wrist. The strap is equipped with a black DLC coated folding safety clasp.

Featuring a screwed see-through back, the case is 100-meter water-resistant.

The one-of-a-kind glass dial of the Oris watches demonstrates a printed wheel rim pattern. It allows to drop a glance at the top-quality automatic mechanical movement and the calendar date wheel. This way the dial acquires an eye-paralyzing 3D layered structure.

One more peculiarity of the dial is that it is completed by Superluminova numerals of the same Microgramma typeface as featured by the Porsche cars. The Superluminova indices and black nickel hands with luminous inlay guarantee great visibility under reduced light conditions.

The automatic mechanical movement animating the Oris Darryl O’Young Limited Edition watches offers the centralized seconds, minutes and hours displays. The date is featured at 4 o’clock.

As Watches.InfoNIAC.com found out, each model will be issued in a limited edition of 997 pieces, the number hinting at the Type 997 Porsches. The limited edition number is engraved on the case side at 9 o’clock.
