You will notice a 200-hour power-reserve indicator, off-set hour and minute hands and an original three-arm seconds hand indicating the seconds across a graduated three-tier dial. The front face is protected by a double-sided antiglare treated sapphire crystal provided with unusual mineralized treatment.
The reverse side of the face is hidden in a secret flip-over casing. It demonstrates the perpetual calendar for day, month and date with leap year and a one-of-a-kind display of the moon-phases. The reverse face is protected by a double-sided antiglare treated clear sapphire crystal. To see the hidden face, it is necessary to press a catch on the outer case to make the case flip over at 12 o’clock.
The timepiece accommodates the completely hand-crafted Daniel Roth manual winding calibre 5301. The new movement follows the renowned calibre 5300, the double-faced 8-day tourbillon. The caliber 5301 has incorporated an additional module – the perpetual calendar that replaced the simple date display. One more difference is the power reserve shown in a small aperture found at 12 o’clock on the front face, while the previous version showed the power reserve indicated on the reverse face.
The double face of the watch allows to see sections of the movement from both sides. Some of the functions of the double-sided movement are set inside the plates, so even if the movement may seem to be a simple one, in reality the calibre 5301 represents an ultra complicated movement.
The 8-day tourbillon perpetual calendar watch has been developed, produced and assembled by Daniel Roth at their manufactory located in the Vallee de Joux, the Swiss Jura.
The Daniel Roth 220.Y Tourbillon 8-day perpetual calendar will be available in three different metals - yellow gold 220.Y.20, red-gold 220.Y.50 and platinum 220.Y.70.
The outstanding Daniel Roth watch is secured to the wrist on an alligator strap with a newly designed triple-blade folding clasp engraved with the initials of the brand.
