At Baselworld 2009, the famous jewelry and watchmaker Swarovski was extremely excited to introduce its Avant Time watch line, giving the most daring and creative vision of time. Part of this collection, the D:Light watch captured public attention by the magnificent fusion of breathtaking aesthetic and high horology. Issued in limited series of 99 pieces, the watch featured an 18K rose gold case, housing a reliable, manufactory-made movement.
In 2010, Swarovski has delivered its new captivating D:Light watch, which borrowed all its watchmaking and graphical features from its enthusiastically received predecessor. Advanced from the technological standpoint, this novelty features 171 Xilion crystals, brought together to form a rectangular dial. Due to these cleverly arranged crystals the watch acquires its incredible bracelet-like appearance.
Manufactured from high-grade stainless steel, the bezel settings are submerged beneath the crystals. This exclusive gem-setting technique has turned this watch into a true jewelry item.
The new Swarovski watch also reveals an oval button, marked with the Swarovski Swan logo. When pressed, it activates a complicated mechanism, meant for illuminating the miniature crystals. Brightened with a shimmering shade of blue, they intensively indicate time for several seconds.
The case is engraved with the Swanflower motif. It is held securely in place by a large white rubber strap, which terminates in a stainless steel butterfly buckle.
Moreover, the Swarovski D:Light watch is proposed with a special base. When placed onto it, the watch is recharged by means of the brand’s ingenious induction system.
A true incarnation of Swarovski’s avant-garde spirit, this timepiece will become a sure hit with watch enthusiasts, looking for unconventional timekeeping accessory.
