Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Retrograde Watch - Designed with Refinement in Mind

Feb 14, 2011
Cuervo y Sobrinos has proudly delivered its new Historiador Retrograde watch - a modern interpretation of the original model, issued in the period of the 1940-1950s.

Supremely elegant, this inviting timepiece employs a stainless steel case, 40 mm in diameter.

The new Cuervo y Sobrinos watch is operated with a winding crown, located at 3 o’clock. The crown coordinates perfectly with charismatic lugs. The water-resistance of the case is assured down to 3 atm.

The watch shows off a refined “Clous de Paris” dial. It is completed with contrasting Roman numerals and the applied CYS emblem at 12 o'clock.

The display of the new Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Retrograde watch ensures central hours, minutes and seconds, individually shown by blued hands. The dial features the retrograde date display, power reserve indicator and retrograde day of the week counter. These functions can be read at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock respectively.

All the functions are driven by a 30-jewel automatic CYS 240 movement. The power reserve, provided by the mechanism, constitutes 42 hours. It incorporates an engraved CYS oscillating weight, which can be admired through the transparent case-back. The latter is fitted with a curved sapphire crystal, typical of the 1950s. The same glass is used for the front part of the model.

A black Louisiana crocodile leather strap, fitted with a deployant buckle, accentuates the refinement of the new Cuervo y Sobrinos watch.
