Corum is pleased to unveil its
new Admiral’s Cup AC-One 45 Regatta watch. Having long partnered with the most prestigious regattas and sailors, including Loick Peyron and Ben Ainslie, the brand has now developed a caliber that provided a countdown function with a chronograph.
The new Corum watch has maintained all the classic features of the iconic Admiral’s Cup collection born in 1960.
The novelty is animated by a
new automatic movement -
Caliber CO 040, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 48-hour power-reserve. Its jumping countdown function can be adjusted from 0 to 10 minutes. Its numerical aperture display guarantees perfect readability. Its chronograph allows to time up to 12 hours of racing.
Prior to the first regatta signal, the watch owner programs the
countdown function with help of the crown to the number of minutes according to the regatta standards at between 0 and 10 minutes, and then presses the pushbutton to make it run. If it is set to 10 minutes, the transition to 9 in the aperture pointed to by the red arrow is performed via a jump after 60 seconds. Then, the minutes left are marked off down to 0, and the final gun is fired signaling the start of the race. Using the regatta countdown function of the watch its wearer can set it incrementally to any given minute between the first and last sound signal before the race starts.
The
extremely accurate chronograph is presented via a red central sweep-seconds hand and 30-minute and 12-hour counters positioned at 12 and 6 o’clock respectively. It continues running to count off up to 12 hours of racing.
The case, 45 mm in diameter, is rendered in
grade 5 titanium and reflects the signature identity codes of the collection - an iconic 12-sided bezel and the inner bezel ring bearing the nautical pennants.
The case demonstrates alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes. There are black PVD-coated inserts embedded between the middle of the case and back and between the bezel and the middle of the case. The case-construction is
300-meter water-resistant. It is built with a transparent sapphire crystal case-back that allows to admire the beauty of Caliber CO 040 and its black PVD-coated oscillating weight.
The
black dial is completed with hour-markers and hands provided with light-colored Superluminova. The glance is caught by extremely sporty red accents.

Corum’s iconic Bridges collection welcomes a newcomer - the
Ti-Bridge Automatic Dual Winder watch. Reflecting the collection’s linear construction, the novelty is equipped with the
automatic CO 207 caliber that boasts an innovative Dual Winder system, deriving its energy from two interconnected inline oscillating weights. The movement was designed, developed and patented in-house by the brand.
The Ti-Bridge Automatic Dual Winder watch is the first automatic timepiece to join the Ti-Bridge line. Its creators have maintained the horizontal linearity of both the case and the movement - the fundamental principles of the collection.
For the first automatic caliber within the Ti-Bridge line the Corum watchmakers decided to develop an
inline winding system. The patented Dual Winder system incorporates two inline-mounted circular oscillating weights, interconnected with help of a
transmission arbor to make them move in parallel. Three integrated stacked mechanisms found at 9 o’clock include a ball bearing device and two unidirectional ball bearings clutches. They are crafted in ceramics, implying they need no lubrication and make the winding efficient in both directions of the oscillating weights’ rotations.
The oscillating weights are topped by two steel disks. Two tungsten semi-cylinders, weighing 1.32 grams, provide smooth winding. The barrel, positioned at 3 o’clock, is responsible for storing up the movement’s
72-hour power reserve.
The movement is held in the case center by four titanium cross-bars, producing an impression of a suspended mechanism.
The
generously sized case (42 x 52 mm) demonstrates the collection’s signature tonneau shape. The case, fashioned in grade 5 titanium, has become slimmer if compared to the previous models. It reveals a broad front opening that allows to drop a glance at the movement beating inside. The rectangular rear aperture reveals the rotating mechanism with its two inline oscillating weights.
The case-construction is
30-meter water-resistant. The face is shielded by a domed sapphire crystal.
The
new Corum Ti-Bridge Automatic Dual Winder watch has been created in a
limited edition of 200 pieces. It is teamed with a rubber-type leather strap or a grade 5 titanium bracelet.
There is also another version of the timepiece presented in a
5N 18K red gold and limited to just 25 pieces.

new Chargé d’Affaires watch. The novelty pays tribute to the initial Chargé d’Affaires model born in 1956 and featured in the very first catalog of the brand. It joins the
Corum Heritage collection, among other historical models of the brand, belonging to its rich legacy, including the Golden Tube and the Chinese Hat introduced in 2010.

mechanical hand-wound Caliber CO 286 - the same caliber that once powered the original Chargé d’Affaires watch.
The Corum watchmakers have entirely restored the mechanism with help of vintage tools and techniques. They made it correspond to the current quality and finishing standards. Operating at a frequency of 18,000 vph, the movement provides a
46-hour power reserve. It is constructed with two barrels, each with its personal winding crown – the first to be used for controlling the hands, and the second for the alarm.
