Corum Unveils Admiral's Cup GMT 44

The Corum legendary Admiral’s Cup collection has been joined by a new chic model for city dwellers - Corum Admiral's Cup GMT 44. The timepiece has been unveiled at Baselworld 2009.

The new Corum watch has smartly united sports spirit and aesthetic elegance. The timepiece will serve as the base for other variations to be unveiled in future. It is characterized by softer angles, fresh lines and a thinner case. A great advantage of the watch is the second time zone function, especially useful for globetrotters and those who prefer active lifestyle.

The case of the Admiral’s Cup GMT 44 watch is crafted from red gold, red gold in combination with steel or steel. The case measures 44mm in diameter and demonstrates satin-brushed and polished surfaces.

boast 100-meter water-resistance, while the red gold version is 50-meter water-resistant.

The pure, understated dial, in white or black, features a date window at 3 o’clock. The rim is completed with the second time-zone markings. The time in the second time zone is indicated by a distinctively red arrow-tipped central hand. You will also notice a flange completed with the 12 miniaturized nautical pennants, maintaining the heritage of the Admiral’s Cup collection.

The case construction incorporates a solid screw-down case-back, demonstrating the engraving of the Admiral’s Cup trophy. There is also one more version of the timepiece with a case-back having a sapphire crystal that allows to admire the movement.

The Corum watch, reviewed by, is animated by a mechanical self-winding CO383 movement that provides the hour, minute, seconds and date functions, as well as the dual time-zone display. The oscillating weight is engraved with “CORUM.” The movement, revealing rhodium-plated finishes, offers a 42-hour power reserve.

The Corum Admiral's Cup GMT 44 watch is coupled with an elegant genuine crocodile leather strap or a more masculine bracelet crafted from the same material as the case. Both the strap and the bracelet guarantee supreme comfort of wearing.

Corum intends to produce about 1,000 pieces of the new timepiece in 2009.
