The chief attribute of the new Corum watch is a Swiss made self-winding baguette-type CO 3131 movement, equipped with a rare linear winding system. It incorporates a platinum oscillating weight, moving up and down like a tiny steam hammer. The movement’s structure also includes a guilloched plate and bridges, crafted from of 18K gold.
Embellished with 26 jewels, the mechanism beats to the rhythm of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a 40-hour power reserve. Executed entirely in the company’s workshops, the caliber can be admired via the transparent case-back. It can be also enjoyed through a minimalistic dial.
The time on the black or gray dial is reduced to indicating just hours and minutes. They are displayed by skeletonized central hands, manufactured from rose or white gold. The hands circulate over elegant hour-markers, which don’t distract attention from the intricate workings of the movement.
The heart of the new Corum Golden Bridge automatic watch is hidden inside a tonneau-shaped case, sculptured in rose or white gold. Its measurements are 37.20 mm x 51.80 mm. The case sports a bezel, performed in the same shape and from the same material.
The body of the timepiece features top and bottom sapphire crystals. To offer an even better vision of the bewitching movement, the specialists within the manufacture have fitted the case with two lateral sapphire crystals. The delicate winding crown has been transferred from the standard place at 3 o’clock to a more unusual position at 6 o’clock. The water-resistance of the case is ensured down to 30 meters.
This extraordinary watch is accompanied by a hand-stitched crocodile leather strap. It is finalized by a tongue buckle in rose white gold.
The issue of the model will be strictly limited to 130 pieces for the red gold version and 70 pieces for the white gold interpretation.
