Meet New Longines Conquest Classic Watches

Feb 27, 2013
Acting as a partner of the most prestigious flat races in the world, Longines is pleased to present its new Conquest Classic watches created for the world of horse-racing. The novelties, powered by self-winding movements, remain faithful to the brand’s values of supreme elegance, tradition and performance.

The first Conquest model was born in 1954. Since then, the brand has introduced a variety of Conquest watches that enjoyed great success due to their classical beauty. The new models are devoted to those race-goers who join the most prestigious race meetings of the season, from Chantilly to Hong Kong and from Dubai to Royal Ascot. The timepieces pay tribute to the chronograph models introduced from 1881 on for race-goers and jockeys in New York.

The new Longines Conquest Classic watches have been created in three sizes. The ladies’ watches, 29.50 mm in diameter, display the hours, minutes, seconds and the date. They are sculptured from steel, rose gold or presented in a combination of steel and rose gold. The black or silvered dial is completed with applied 12, 6 and 9 numerals, enhancing the sporty look of the models.

The second version features a 40mm-in-diameter case. The mother-of-pearl dial is graced with 12 diamonds for an extra feel of refinement. There is also a variation with the bezel paved with 30 diamonds. The timepieces are presented on black alligator straps or steel or steel and rose gold bracelets, matching the dial. The straps and bracelets are equipped with a folding safety clasp.

The new Longines Conquest Classic chronograph models have a 41mm-in-diameter case. They are powered by an L688 column-wheel movement elaborated and produced by ETA exclusively for the brand. The case is rendered in steel, steel and rose gold or just rose gold.

The silvered or black dial of the new Longines watches displays the hours and minutes in the center, and small seconds at 9 o’clock. The date and chronograph functions are presented via a central sweep seconds, a 30-minute counter found at 3 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock.

The chronograph models are teamed with a black alligator strap or a steel or steel and rose gold bracelet, fitted with a folding safety clasp.
