Longines Presents Column-Wheel Chronograph Record Watch

Mar 29, 2011
At Baselworld 2011, Longines presents its new Column-Wheel Chronograph Record watch. The novelty has been inspired by the brand’s chronograph model introduced in the 1960’s. The timekeeping instrument has been subjected to thorough redesigning. It is powered by an exclusive L688.2 column wheel movement.

The new Longines watch offers supreme readability due to its central seconds hand with a vernier scale at its tip. It shows the time to one eighth of a second on the minute track.

The sporty styled timepiece features a 41mm case sculptured from stainless steel. The face of the watch, in black or cream, is shielded by a sapphire crystal with antireflective coating. It is completed with Super-LumiNova-coated indices. The small seconds counter is found at 9 o’clock, the 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, the 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, and the date aperture at 4 o’clock.

The Longines watch is 30-meter water-resistant.

The Swiss automatic 27-jewel movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, animates hours, minutes, seconds, date and chronograph functions. It gives an advantage of a 54-hour power reserve. The transparent sapphire case-back allows to drop a glance at the sophisticated movement.

The new Longines Column-Wheel Chronograph Record watch goes on a black alligator leather strap.
