Ulysse Nardin Spectacular Classico Watches

Nov 10, 2009
Extremely graceful, the new Classico watch line from Ulysse Nardin has definitely conquered its place at the pinnacle of timelessness.

The watches from this exceptional collection have borrowed their most remarkable features from both Ulysse Nardin's iconic San Marco assemblage and the currently-discontinued Ulysse I watch.

Creating these spectacular models, the brand designers drew their inspiration from the case shape of the latter, namely the scarab-style lugs.

Sculptured in 18-karat white or rose gold, the Classico watch for men is available with a case, which boasts a lavish diameter of 40 mm. The case surface demonstrates a polished finish, which fits perfectly with the finishing of both leaf hands and hour markers.

The interpretations, rendered in rose gold, come with the choice of a black or a silvered dial. The white gold version of the Classico timekeeper demonstrates a blue dial, done with genuine enamel.

To create this masterpiece Ulysse Nardin applies its exclusive "grand feu" technique, which requires quite an intensive effort. When properly illuminated, the impeccable beauty of the enamel opens up to its fullest.

The highly-respected watchmaker has also manufactured the fascinating Classico watch for ladies. The Ulysse Nardin Classico Lady watch features a case, crafted in 18-karat white gold. Its diameter is equal to 35mm.

The case exposes white gold winding crowns, decorated with sapphire cabochons. It is also fitted with a bezel and lugs, studded with round glaring diamonds. These rows of irresistible gemstones coordinate perfectly with the appealing kiln-fired enamel dial, embellished with diamonds.

The dial of the ladys watch showcases a delicate bird with vibrant plumage. This timekeeper is accompanied by a hand-sewn alligator leather strap, which makes a fine match with the cheerful colors of the dial.

The Classico watches from Ulysse Nardin, reviewed by Watches.InfoNIAC.com, intended for both men and women, accommodate an automatic mechanical UN-815 caliber movement. The caliber has received a COSC-chronometer certificate as a testimonial to its matchless exactitude.

The ladies version offers the basic functions of indicating the hours and minutes, whereas the functionality of the Classico interpretation, intended for men, also includes sweep seconds and a rapidly correctable date display.

Every Classico watch is armed with a curved sapphire crystal on the dial side.
The sapphire crystal exhibition windows in the case-back of the Ulysse Nardin watches show off the enchanting details of centrally-mounted winding rotors, rendered in 22K gold. Both interpretations provide a 42-hour power reserve and 50-meter water-resistance.

Completing the look of the models are fine leather straps fitted with matching folding clasps in 18-karat gold. The individual number of every watch is presented on a graceful oval-shaped plaque, fastened to the left side of the case by two screws.
