Oris Creates Chronoris Grand Prix 70 Limited Edition

Feb 11, 2009
Oris has created a new stylish timepiece paying tribute to the 1970’s, the time period famous as the golden age of car racing.

The Oris Chronoris Grand Prix 70 Limited Edition watch is a smart mixture of retro and contemporary Formula One style. The powerfully designed watch is equipped with a new automatic movement.

The stainless steel case of the watch measures 42.5mm in diameter. The case construction incorporates a screw-down case-back with mineral glass. The face of the watch is protected by a convex sapphire crystal provided with anti-reflective treatment. The timepiece is 50-meter water-resistant.

The new Oris watch provides a range of functions – besides traditional hours and minutes, the watch features stop and small seconds, date, second time zone, tachometer, chronograph and countdown function.

The black-and-green dial is completed with applied hour markers. The central second time zone and the 10-minute countdown are presented in British Racing Green. The 12-hour sub-dial is found at 6 o’clock, the small seconds counter at 9 o’clock and the 30-minute sub-dial at 12 o’clock. The date window is positioned at 6 o’clock.

The timepiece will be available in a limited edition of 1970 individually numbered pieces. Each Oris watch will be presented in a special presentation box along with a pair of vintage racing gloves.

The Oris Chronoris Grand Prix 70 Limited Edition watch is secured to the wrist on a Green remborde black leather strap fitted with a steel folding clasp.
