Breitling Chronomat 01 Limited Edition - Ultimate Chronograph Watches

Nov 01, 2010
Breitling is pleased to unveil its iconic Chronomat 01 watch in a limited edition of 2,000 pieces sculptured in steel and 200 pieces in rose gold. The timepieces demonstrate exclusive finishing and a see-through case-back that allows to drop a glance at the absolutely in-house chronograph caliber beating inside.

The Chronomat 01 joined the world of watchmaking in 2009, having become the first timekeeper of the brand to be equipped with Caliber 01, a chronograph movement developed and produced independently in the brands workshops.

The Chronomat 01 watch stands out from the crowd due the powerful design of its case and the bezel engraved with original numbers. The timepiece has successfully united strength and elegance.

Every piece from the limited edition line bears the individual number engraved at 9 oclock on the middle part of the case. The case, bezel and bracelet demonstrate gently contrasting finishing satin-brushed surface on the top and polished on the sides.

The black dial is completed with applied hour-markers. While the previously introduced Chronomat 01 featured a solid steel or gold case-back, the limited edition models boasts a see-through sapphire crystal case-back revealing the in-house chronograph movement. The high-performance engine is assembled according to an innovative industrial process and demonstrates a unique architectural design.

Breitling Caliber 01, a self-winding mechanical movement, guarantees top precision proved by official COSC-chronometer certification. The 47-jewel movement is operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

The case, 43.50 mm in diameter, rendered in steel or 18K rose gold, is 200-meter water-resistant. The case construction incorporates a screw-locked crown, safety push-pieces and a unidirectional ratcheted rotating bezel. The face of the watch is shielded by a cambered sapphire crystal, glareproofed on both sides.

The Breitling Chronomat 01 Limited Edition watch is secured to the wrist on a pilot bracelet in steel or rose gold. The timepiece is expected to be available starting with December at the price of 8,150 US dollars for the steel version and 39,000 US dollars for the red gold version.
