Mar 18, 2010
The remarkable Chronograph Ref. 5170 from the prominent watchmaker Patek Philippe has recently arrived to the challenging Swiss watchmaking scene. The undeniable highlight of the watch is its reliable CH 29-535 PS calibre movement, engineered and produced from top to toe in the manufacture’s ateliers.

The manually-wound movement, equipped with a column-wheel and horizontal toothed-wheel coupling, has been designed in the distinctive classical style. It serves to indicate the functions of hours, minutes, seconds and chronograph. The high-performance of this flagship model is ensured by the Patek Philippe seal.

Decked out in 18K yellow gold, the case of this horological novelty boasts 39 mm in diameter and immediately brings to mind the brand’s impressive chronograph of the 1940’s. The company’s specialists have fitted the case with a sapphire crystal back. The water-resistance of the Patek Philippe watch described is down to 30 meters.

Housed in the watch case is a silvered opaline dial. It is completed with gold applique hour-markers. Set within the dial are 30-minute and small seconds counters, positioned at 3 and 9 correspondingly.

The extraordinary Patek Philippe Chronograph Ref. 5170 watch is presented on a matt chocolate-brown hand-stitched, square-scaled alligator leather strap, closed with a folding clasp.
