Nov 08, 2012
Representing the official timekeeper of the 2013 Dakar Rally, Edox brings forth its Chronodakar Limited Edition watch. The number of timepieces is restricted to just 200 pieces.

The Dakar rally was born in 1979. Today, it is the most remarkable rally raid and human endurance contest in the world. The rally was initially held in Africa, but in 2009 it moved to South America. In 2013, about 740 competitors will take part in the rally to be held in Peru, Argentina and Chile. It will include all categories - car, truck and motorbike.

The new Edox watch has been constructed to withstand the extreme desert conditions. The novelty boasts state-of-the-art features. Its generously-sized case accommodates a reliable chronograph movement - Edox 103, based on Ronda 5021.D. It animates the following functions - hours, minutes, seconds, date, and chronograph.

The 45mm case is rendered in 316L stainless steel provided with ultra virile black PVD coating. It incorporates red start button and black stop button. The case-back depicts a Touareg engraving, while the Limited edition number is engraved on the case flank. The black steel bezel bears red numerals.

The case-construction is water resistant down to 100 meters.

The dial is completed with black, red and white numerals and markings. It is shielded by a scratch-resistant and glare-proof sapphire crystal.

The Edox Chronodakar Limited Edition watch is mounted on a structured black rubber strap equipped with a stainless steel buckle featuring an engraved Edox logo.

It is a reliable timekeeping companion for racing car drivers and fans of rallies and racing. It will be available worldwide starting with the end of 2012.
