Christopher Ward

In late September, 2010, the luxury watchmaker
Christopher Ward will release a
C70 Aston Martin DBR1 watch. The new model pays tribute to the famous victory, gained by
Aston Martin, at Le Mans in 1959.
The issue of the Christopher Ward exclusive watch will be strictly limited to
500 pieces worldwide. It proudly reveals a number of components, dressed in British Racing Green - a hue, which is immediately associated with English motor sports.
The charismatic design of the timekeeper in question echoes many details of the winning car. The case of the model is offset by the British Racing Green bezel, which reflects the color of the car. The background color, used for the watch face and three chronograph counters, is borrowed from the dark charcoal trim of the
Aston Martin sport vehicle.

The
stainless steel case of the Christopher Ward’s novel timekeeper features the dimensions of 42 mm x 16 mm. It demonstrates a perfect blend of satin finishing and hand-polishing. dial is performed in black with red accents and white elements added. It is composed of three central hands, including a red seconds hand. The latter has a Peregine-shaped counterbalance.
Three
chronograph counters, intended for hours, minutes and seconds, are placed at 12, 9 and 6 o’clock respectively. Both the day of the week and the date of the month are displayed through the aperture located at 3 o'clock position.
The timekeeping hands, top bezel marker and hour markers are coated with a luminous compound to enhance the low-light readability.
Both front and back sides of the watch are fitted with sapphire crystals. The dial side of the model is protected by a curved sapphire crystal; its rear side, meanwhile, demonstrates a sapphire crystal, which shows off the fascinating details of the customized rotor and movement.
