New Chopard L.U.C. 8HF Watch - Great Precision
Those interested in modern-day technologies, will surely appreciate the new Chopard L.U.C. 8HF watch - an experimental high-frequency model unveiled by the brand this year. The novelty, which boasts the frequency rate of 8Hz, was born in the brand’s manufacture in Fleurier, Switzerland. It is limited to 100 pieces.

If compared to a standard self-winding movement, operating at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vph), the L.U.C 01.06-L operates at a frequency of 8Hz (57,600 vph). High frequency improves the precision of a calibre, particularly when referred to its rate resumption and stability. The precision of the movement was crowned by the COSC chronometer certification.

To mark the 125th anniversary of the “Poincon de Geneve” quality hallmark, the house of Chopard has launched its new L.U.C XPS limited edition watch.

With its issue restricted just to 125 pieces, the novelty offers an 18-karat rose gold case. It measures 39.50mm in diameter and is 7.13mm thick. The new Chopard watch is equipped with an 18-karat rose gold winding crown with L.U.C logo. On its front side, the case is armed with a glare-proofed sapphire crystal. The same glass is used for its back part. The water-resistance of the case is assured down to 30 meters.

The model shows off a brown sunburst satin-brushed dial, struck with “Poincon de Geneve” logo. It is equipped with gold-toned hour-markers, pointed at by central gold-toned Dauphine-type hour and minute hands. A gold-toned baton-type small seconds hand makes its rounds in a counter at 6 o’clock.

Chopard is proud to introduce its new L.U.C Triple Certification Tourbillon watch. It is the first timepiece in the world, which comes with three most prestigious certifications of Swiss watchmaking - COSC, Poincon de Geneve and Fleurier Quality Foundation.

A top achievement for the brand, each certification issued is governed by certain criteria. The first body mainly estimates the movement precision; the second focuses on aesthetics and technological details of the finishing, and the third one is aimed at reliability of the model.

The new Chopard watch is executed in a 43mm case, sculptured in 18-carat rose gold. The massive winding crown at 3 o’clock is also done in 18-carat rose gold and marked with a "L.U.C" logo. The top of the case is shielded by a high-grade anti-glare sapphire crystal. The model is also equipped with a see-through case-back. The case provides 50-meter water-resistance.

The timepiece comes equipped with a silver-toned grained dial, embossed with a "Poincon-de-Geneve" logo. Completed with rhodium-plated Roman numerals, the face of the new Chopard L.U.C Triple Certification Tourbillon watch ensures central hours and minutes.

The caliber is embellished with 33 jewels and beats to the rhythm of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Integrated within the movement are 4 barrels (quattro technology), which deliver an impressive 216-hour power reserve.

The new Chopard watch is worn on a hand-sewn shiny brown alligator leather strap with a cognac-colored alligator leather lining. It joins to an 18-carat rose gold pin buckle. The issue of the model is limited to 100 pieces.

The new L.U.C XP Urushi watches are the result of a successful partnership between Chopard and Kiichiro Masumura, who was bestowed with the title “Living National Treasure” by the Japanese government.

A happy union of ancestral Japanese art and Swiss horological refinement, the new Chopard watches utilize the traditional Urushi and Maki-e techniques. Urushi is an ancestral Japanese art of lacquering. The varnish is produced from sap of the Urushi tree, also known as the “lacquer tree” or the “Japanese varnish tree”.
