The partnership between Chopard and the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique was born in 2002, inspired by the shared passion for sophisticated mechanisms, precision and strict discipline. The L.U.C XP is a classic timepiece from Chopard, initially introduced in 2006. Chopard, under the guidance of Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, and Elton John have once again joined their creative talents and come up with a new collection of limited edition Elton John watches.

The timepieces, created to benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation reflect the artist’s charismatic personality, and in particular his innate sense of extravagance, generosity and love for fine watches and jewelry. A percentage of the profits from the sale of the new collection will be donated to support the fight against AIDS.

The Elton John chronograph watches are animated by a self-winding movement, offering precision of a COSC-certified Chronometer. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement gives an advantage of a 42-hour power-reserve.

The Chopard iconic L.U.C collection has been joined by a new exclusive watch - the L.U.C Lunar Big Date. The timepiece was unveiled at Baselworld 2009.

The zest of the new Chopard watch is an astounding orbital moon phase indicator. The visually beautiful horological complication shows the waxing and waning of the Moon from the Northern and Southern hemisphere with remarkable precision. The moon phase indicator of the timepiece perfectly reflects the real lunar cycle with the difference equal to just one day in the period of 122 years.

The first drawings of the latest Chopard Elton John Watch Collection, designed by Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, Chopard Co-President and the Artistic Director, will be used to benefit The Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The new Chopard chronograph models will be created in rose or white gold. The timepieces will be set with different combinations of precious stones - diamond baguettes, pink, yellow, black or chocolate diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and sapphires.

The Chopard watches will be coupled with pink, blue, yellow, green, red, or black bracelets.

The watches will be available in limited edition series. Every timepiece will demonstrate an engraving of Elton John's signature on the case back.

The launch of the new Chopard Elton John watches will take place in Moscow on December 7. It will be marked by a private Elton John concert.

The ring reflects the spirit of Hard Candy describes by Madonna as "a juxtaposition of tough and sweetness." The jewelry item spells out the star hip-hop pseudonym, "M-dolla," in 258 brilliant-cut white diamonds. A Chopard signature mobile diamond is revealed in the flourish of the letter M.

Chopard has already created jewelry for Madonna's 2005 Confessions on a Dance Floor album - the unique pave diamond "Hung-Up" necklace. Hard Candy is set to be released on April 28.

Today, Chopard is strengthening its links with the world international cinema - the most famous Swiss watch and jewelry brand has established an exclusive partnership with the Film Society Of Lincoln Center's 46th New York Film Festival.

The New York Film Festival, to last for 17 days, has opened its doors on September 26th.
