The new timepiece has been inspired by the Mille Miglia model that was introduced in the 1990s and enjoyed tremendous success. It was destined to become the first ever timepiece in the collection to be presented on the one-of-the-kind natural rubber strap the design of which was suggested by the 1960s Dunlop Racing tire.
The Mille Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 watch demonstrates classic shapes, supreme readability and understated elegance.
The stainless steel case of the bold watch measures 42 mm in diameter and is coupled with the natural rubber Dunlop Racing strap. The ruthenium dial demonstrates the distinctive red-and-white race logo. The precision timekeeping is guaranteed by a mechanical self-winding chronograph COSC-chronometer-certified movement.
Besides hours, minutes and small seconds, the dial of the new Mille Miglia watch features the date function via a window positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock, as well as the 12-hour and 30-minute chronograph counters found at 9 and 6 o’clock respectively.
You are sure to agree to watches.infoniac.com that the dial of the watch is highly legible. It is completed with Superluminova-coated Arabic numerals and hands and a central chronograph seconds hand with a red tip. It is framed by a tachometer scale.
The face of the timepiece
is protected by glare-resistant sapphire crystal.
The mechanical self-winding chronograph movement, beating inside the Chopard watch, gives an advantage of a 42-hour power reserve. The movement incorporates a stop seconds system to provide absolutely accurate time-setting. The mechanism can be admired through the transparent case-back.
The natural black rubber strap with an eye-catching 1960s Dunlop Racing tyre-tread pattern is equipped with a pin buckle.
The timepiece boasts 50-meter water-resistance.
The Chopard Mille Miglia Chrono Limited Edition 2009 will be available in a limited edition of 2009 pieces. It will be unveiled at Baselworld 2009.
