Zenith Captain Tourbillon Watch - Epitome of Horological Refinement

Oct 15, 2012
The world of exclusive watchmaking welcomes the new Zenith Captain Tourbillon watch, the first classic tourbillon with a three-hand display to join the collection.

The novelty demonstrates an asymmetrical design, with the dial revealing an off-centered rotating carriage that rotates once per minute and is constructed with a small seconds hand.

The new Zenith watch is characterized by restrained, understated lines. It has been inspired by the design codes of the Captain watches introduced in the 1950s, featuring dauphine-style hands and hour-markers.

The refined dial shows off a brushed silvery centre, a grained silvery hour circle and a polished minute circle embellished with a velvet finish.

The see-through sapphire crystal case-back allows to drop a glance at the inner life of the timepiece - the El Primero 4041 S automatic caliber. The 199-part, 25-jewel movement is beating at a cadence of 36,000 vibrations per hour. It provides a 50-hour power-reserve. The oscillating weight is adorned with a Côtes de Genève pattern.

The 40 mm case is sculptured in 18K white or rose gold. The novelty is also available in a gem-decorated variation, sparkling with 46 baguette-cut diamonds on the bezel. The dial is shielded by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflection treatment on both sides. The case-construction is 50-meter water-resistant.

The new Zenith Captain Tourbillon watch is presented on an alligator leather strap equipped with a triple folding clasp in white or rose gold.
