The case of the Sotirio Bulgari watch, equally classic and contemporary, is crafted from 18K gold, either pink, yellow, or white. It measures 42mm in diameter. You will immediately notice that the bezel of the watch lacks the distinctive Bvlgari-Bvlgari logo.
The case construction is also distinguishing by the broad lugs that seem to form a letter "X" through the watch’s dial. The surface of the case is embellished with nice contrast created with help of satin and polished finishes.
The silvered dial demonstrates a vertical Cotes-de-Geneve pattern and two curved screw-secured satin-brushed elements. The dial is completed with hand-applied Roman numerals and baton hour markers, as well as faceted skeleton hands in gold. You will see the date shown via an original vertical semi-circular window positioned at 3 o'clock.
Paying tribute to fine horological tradition, and pocket watches in particular, the watch has a hinged double case back. When you lift the cover, the case back reveals an exceptional movement beating inside the watch. The movement is visible via a sapphire crystal window.
The bridges of the movement are embellished with Cotes-de-Geneve pattern and feature a sophisticated cutaway design echoing the elements of the case and dial. The movement incorporates an originally shaped central winding mass featuring the same design. The tiniest movement parts, such as jewel settings and screws, also demonstrate meticulous finishing.
The Bulgari Sotirio Bulgari watch is secured to the wrist on a hand-sewn alligator strap fitted with an ardillon-style buckle with the Bulgari signature. The exceptional timepiece will be available in a limited edition of just 125 pieces. It is expected to be available starting with September 2009 in Bvlgari boutiques worldwide.
