First models: It is not difficult to guess that the name Navitimer is composed of two words - navigation and timer. The first Breitling Navitimer watches were created with a black dial featuring Arabic numerals and with the AOPA logo. These timekeepers incorporated three essential instruments for navigation: a watch, a chronograph and a slide rule.

In the late 60's the company released Navitimers that featured no the AOPA logo. They revealed a new distinctive Breitling logo composed of two planes. As for the white sub-dials, they became bigger, having significantly changed the appearance of the watch.
Quartz revolution: In the early 1970-s the watch-making industry was shaken by a real revolution - the appearance of the quartz technology. Breitling wanted to follow the latest tendency and in 1973 the company launched Quartz Navitimer watches. The timepieces were provided with LED (light electro luminescent diodes) technology. The Breitling Navitimers had a black display. On the side of the watch there was a special push-button used to light the LEDs.

The 1990-s marked a new wave of success for mechanical timepieces. In 1993 Breitling inspired by success introduced the "Old Navitimer II".
Navitimer heritage: More than 50 years have passed since the launch of the first Navitimer. Today Breitling is one of the leading watch producers in the world, with Navitimer being a true legend of watchmaking. The major characteristics of the model remain the same. The Breitling Navitimer watch line comprises a wide range of models, including luxury models in gold.
