On February 18th, 2011 the new Bretling watch was exposed on the wrist of Juha Kankkunen, a famous Finnish rally driver, while he was behind the wheel of his Bentley Continental GTC Supersports Convertible. The sportsman established a new record on ice, driving his car at a speed of 330.695 km/h.
The model is executed in a 49mm titanium case. It is offset by a bidirectional rotating pinion bezel with a variable tachymeter scale (circular slide rule). The back side of the model is engraved with an image of the Bentley Continental GTC Supersports Convertible.
At 3 o’clock, the case features a screw-locked crown. It is joined by two chronograph pushers, located at 2 and 4 o’clock. On the front side, the case is assembled with a double-sided glare-proofed sapphire crystal. The water-resistance of the case is assured down to 100 meters.
Ticking inside the new Breitling Breitling for Bentley Supersports Light Body watch is a self-winding Breitling Calibre 27B movement, officially certified as a chronometer by the COSC. Built on 38 jewels, it operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
The caliber animates a set of functions, revealed on the dashboard-style carbon fiber dial, touched with red nuances. It offers a double-counter chronograph system and a dual-handed totalizer that ensures simultaneous reading of hours and minutes.
The new Bretling watch is mounted on a black rubber strap. Its issue is restricted to 100 pieces.
