Meet IWC Blue Big Pilot Limited Edition Watch

Aug 17, 2010
This year, IWC Schaffhausen expands its successful range of IWC Big Pilot watches with a new limited edition timepiece - the Blue Big Pilot Limited Edition. The watch catches the glance by its blue-on-black color combination.

Following the steps of other Big Pilot pieces, the new IWC watch is animated by the brands Calibre 51111 automatic movement, representing a modified version of an older Calibre 50000 movement. The 42-jewel movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. Incorporating an oversized mainspring, the movement gives an advantage of a remarkable 7-day power-reserve (that is equal to 168 hours).

The impeccably finished stainless steel case of the watch measures 46.2mm in diameter. The case construction accommodates an extra soft iron safety cage and solid stainless steel case-back for increased antimagnetic protection. It also demonstrates an eye-catching diamond-shaped winding crown.

The dial of the Blue Big Pilot watch is completed with indices and numerals in bright-blue Superluminova to guarantee supreme readability under pure light conditions.

The date is featured in white-on-black via a window at 6 oclock, while the power reserve indicator is located at 3 oclock. It is shielded by a sapphire crystal.

The IWC Blue Big Pilot Limited Edition watch is presented on a riveted black leather strap featuring blue stitching to match the color scheme of the dial.

The timepiece is 60-meter water-resistant.

The IWC pilot watch is released in a limited series of at just 50 pieces to be available in the selected boutiques in Beverly Hills, California and Las Vegas, Nevada.
