At Baselworld 2011, the house of Blancpain proudly unveiled its new Villeret Chronographe Monopoussoir Quantieme Complet watch.
A marriage of aesthetic pleasure and technical sophistication, the new Blancpain watch is available in two interpretations: red gold and steel. The 44mm versions come equipped with a stamped opaline and a white dial respectively.
Appealing and highly legible, the display of the new Blancpain Villeret Chronographe Monopoussoir Quantieme Complet watch ensures central hours, minutes and seconds. Set within the dial are also 12-hour and 30-minute counters, located at 3 and 9 o’clock respectively. The chronograph functions are operated through a single pusher.
In its upper part, the display also offers information on current day and month. It is counterbalanced by a moon-phase indicator. The date can be read off from the 4th central blued steel serpentine hand and Arabic numbers, located on the inner ring next to the Roman numerals.
Adjusting the indications are the under-lug correctors - a patented Blancpain innovation, which ensures fast correction without utilizing a pointed instrument. All the functions are brought to life by a calibre 66CM8 movement - 32mm x 7.5mm.
It is composed of 450 individual parts with 35 jewels among them. The mechanism supplies a 40-hour power reserve. The quality of its finishing can be admired through a transparent sapphire crystal case-back.
The new Blancpain watch is teamed with a 22mm alzavellined alligator leather strap, terminating in a folding clasp.
