The brand’s signature case accommodates the P-211 calibre, elaborated and manufactured by the Group affiliate MHVJ (Manufacture horlogere de la Vallee de Joux). The movement makes the watch demonstrate, with great legibility, the path of the Moon against the background of stars.
The 29-ruby movement, beating at 28, 800 vibrations per hour, boasts an exclusively decorated Perrelet rotor and offers a 40-hour power-reserve. The remarkable precision of the mechanism is provided by the large central disc linked not simply to one element as in case of other timepieces, but to three elements – the carrier, star-wheel, and pinion.
The moon phase mechanisms usually require a correction every 3 years. As for the Perrelet caliber, it works non-stop and shows the lunar positions with outstanding accuracy for more than 100 years, with no need for any correction.
The new Perrelet Big Central Moonphase watch is available in two versions:
- a refined stainless steel 42 mm case presented on an alligator strap and 50-meter water-resistant;
- a sporty titanium 43.5 mm case coupled with a natural black rubber strap and 100-meter water-resistant.
The straps are fitted with a deployment buckle. The tinted glass of the second version subtly reveals the progress of the Moon. An anti-glare sapphire crystal protects the silvered white or black dial of the first version of the new Perrelet watch and the black and anthracite dial of the second version.
