New Hublot Big Bang for Diego Maradona

The world-famous Argentine footballer Diego Maradona has recently been appointed a new ambassador for the Hublot brand. Known as the player of the 20th century, at present Maradona is the coach of Argentina’s national team. Passionate about fine watches, Maradona has been heartily welcomed by the Hublot family.

The renowned footballer’s meeting with the Swiss brand’s management led to immediate mutual understanding. Top achievers in their fields of activity, Hublot and Maradona sealed a partnership targeted at manufacturing a watch that would honor Maradona and bear his name. The Hublot Big Bang Maradona watch has been created specially for the sportsman’s wrist.

The Hublot watch is proposed with a 44.5 mm case, sculptured in microblasted black ceramic. It is framed by a bezel crafted from the same material.

Affixed by 6 H-shaped titanium screws, the bezel securely holds a sapphire crystal with internal anti-glare coating. The case is fitted with a crown made of black PVD-treated steel with a black rubber insert. It is also equipped with rectangular push-pieces rendered in black PVD-coated steel with black rubber inserts.

Just as well, the case features lateral inserts, produced from black composite resin. Manufactured from black ceramic with a sapphire crystal, the case-back of the Hublot watch features an image of Maradona with his arms raised in victory. The timekeeper is 100-meter water-resistant.

The watch demonstrates a black dial, marked with appliques in Argentine blue and luminescent white. The dial includes a 45-minute sub-dial at 9 o'clock. It catches the glance by the lucky number 10 at 3 o'clock and Diego Maradona's signature, performed in Argentine blue, at 6 o'clock.

The date aperture is also nestled at 6 o’clock. Indicating hours and minutes are faceted, diamond-studded, black nickel hands, treated with a luminous white compound. The display also reveals a chronograph hand with H-shaped counterweights and Argentine blue Duco.

Ticking inside this gorgeous Hublot watch is a self-winding chronograph movement - HUB1146 calibre. Paved with 55 jewels, the Hublot movement features satin-finished, bevelled and polished bridges, a sandblasted and rhodium-plated main plate, as well as a barrel with a reinforced spring. Manufactured from tungsten carbide, the oscillating weight exposes black PVD-treated dimpled surface. The mechanism offers a 42-hour power reserve.

The Hublot Big Bang Maradona watch is presented on an adjustable strap, made of alligator leather and rubber and featuring blue stitching. The strap terminates is a black PVD-coated steel deployant clasp.

The Maradona watch has been issued in a limited edition of 250 individually numbered pieces.
