In the 1950s, the world witnessed the appearance of a great number of battery-operated tin robots originally developed in Japan. The whimsical toys fascinated the imagination of kids and grown-ups worldwide, demonstrating notions of human behavior, flying sparks and mechanical gestures. Almost 50 years later, tin robots have become highly demanded among collectors.

Mr Roboto watch is much alike a vintage tin robotic spaceman. The left 'eye' is the hour register, while the right 'eye' features the GMT indication. The 'nose-mouth' region represents the seconds and retrograde minutes placements. Mr Roboto is equipped with a modified automatic ETA 2836-2 movement.

True to the name 'Azimuth', meaning route taken by a traveler, the Azimuth's hallmark creation is a new addition to the Mecha-1 BMF Collection of watches created as a unique mixture of avant-garde design and industrial machismo.
Mr Roboto watch is expected to be available from September 2008 at the retail price of about 4,800.00 Swiss Francs (4,800 dollars).
