The Architectural Digest Mexico’s Editorial Board has studied over 650 projects in order to select candidates worthy of the “Icons of Design” awards, which are regarded as the most important and popular in the domain of design and architecture.
The candidates, who earn a place on the winners’ rostrum, are usually bestowed with a special prize, which represents a masterpiece, born by one of Mexico’s most gifted modern sculptors or artists. This year, it was sculptor Jorge Marin who carried out an honorable mission of creating a trophy, namely a bronze sculpture of a wing.
Before making the final decision, the jury, chaired by Mrs Liza Echeverria, thoroughly studied every project in terms of its functionality, aesthetics, level of innovation, originality and quality. Eventually, the judges bestowed the awards on winners in 17 categories, which succeeded in demonstrating both architectural and technological accomplishments.

With its bold design and distinctive features, the timepiece is an undeniable highlight of all the collections, issued by the manufacture. The Excalibur watch is also distinguished by its case, which accommodates all the brand’s complicated and highly complicated movements. Its real flair lies, however, in the double tourbillon movement, which offers up a supremely sophisticated architecture, created in the spirit of respect for the best horological traditions.
