Meet Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7

Nov 20, 2012
Famous as the producer of supremely elegant Swiss watches, Longines, based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, is pleased to unveil its new Avigation Watch Type A-7. The novelty has been inspired by the brands rich history and its continuous association with the aviation world.

The new Longines watch captures attention by its refinement. The 49 mm case is fashioned in stainless steel. It is coupled with a black alligator strap. It is built with a single pusher at 12 oclock, incorporated into the crown.

The timepiece is animated by an exclusive automatic column-wheel chronograph movement developed for the brand - the caliber L788. The 27-jewel mechanism, beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, offers a 54-hour power-reserve. It provides the following functions: hours, minutes, seconds, date, chronograph and tachymeter.

The peculiarity of the model is that its black dial is positioned at an angle of 50 to the right. It is completed with bold white Arabic numerals. The dial edge features a tachymeter scale. The time is indicated by rhodium-plated Breguet-type hour and minute hands. The face is shielded by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

The case-back holds a nice surprise - it is equipped with a special cover to be opened by the watchs owner to see the movement in motion via the sapphire crystal.

The new Longines Avigation Watch Type A-7 is 30-meter water-resistant.
