Luminox Introduces Atacama Field Day-Date Watch

Nov 18, 2010
Luminox is about to introduce its new Atacama Field Day-Date collection. Designed in the military style, the remarkable watch uses the benefits of the famous Luminox Light Technology – LLT.

Tritium-filled, the LLT tubes are installed on hour-markers as well as hour and minute hands. Characterized by the extreme brightness, these tubes contribute to the legibility of the model, when light becomes darkness and are capable of serving for 25 years.

The white-painted hour-markers and steel hands, provide a stunning contrast with a dark spirit of the dial. Performed in blue or grey, the display of the new Luminox watch also includes light-toned Arabic numerals.

The basic functions of hours, minutes and seconds are complimented by those of day and date.

The day is presented in a rectangular aperture at 9 o’clock. The date, meanwhile, is indicated on a segment, which extends from 2 to 4 o’clock.

The company’s logo is featured beneath the 12 o’clock hour-marker. The information on the model’s water-resistance, which constitutes 200 meters, is revealed above the Arabic numeral at 6 o’clock.

Keeping the new Atacama Field Day-Date watch perfectly on track is a Swiss-made Ronda 517 quartz movement. Built on one jewel, the caliber ensures 45-month power reserve, before it needs changing a battery.

The aforementioned robust mechanism is enclosed in a 42.0 mm case, crafted from gun-metal PVD-coated stainless steel. The same material is used for the watch bezel. The model in question reveals a solid screwed case-back and a high-grade sapphire crystal on its front side.

A casual timekeeping instrument with a flair of elegance, the new Luminox watch is secured to the wearer’s wrist on a gray or brown natural suede leather strap.
