The Pershing Asteria watch from Parmigiani has become a massive hit with the readers of the Swiss magazine Montres Passion lHebdo and visitors of the website. Therefore, this marvelous model was conferred a title of Watch of the Year 2009.

With its character cast in sporty style, this extremely attractive collection of Parmigiani Pershing watches was developed and produced in 2008, to celebrate the partnership between the upscale Italian yacht manufacturer and the renowned Parmigiani brand. The alluring Pershing Asteria watch is a highly realistic reflection of oceanic world. Sculptured in steel or18 carat white gold, the case measures 42 mm in diameter and 13.1 mm in thickness. Fitted with a unidirectional bezel, it embraces a mother-of-pearl dial, suggestive of the deep, crystal-clear water of the ocean. The watch case may also house a Cotes-de-Geneve dial.

The dial, which is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, features the chronograph hand, embellished with a diminutive octopus at one end. The small seconds hand is presented by a starfish, which revolves in time with the seconds. Every item reveals an individual number, engraved on the case-back.

The watch functionality includes hours, minutes, small seconds, located at 3 oclock, the date exhibition window, as well as a 1/4 second chronograph, embracing large seconds, a 30-minute counter and a 12- hour counter. Animating these functions is the self-winding PF334 movement, executed entirely by Parmigiani.

The Parmigiani watch is presented by the brand on a variety of bracelets. It may be accompanied by a steel bracelet, which features satin-finished central links and is equipped with an adjustable safety deployant clasp.

The mother-of-pearl interpretation comes with a Hermes white Epsom calf leather strap, which exposes blue stitching and is finished with a folding buckle with a safety clasp. The steel version is mounted on a natural rubber strap, fitted with an adjustable safety deployant buckle. The white gold models are accompanied by a natural rubber strap, equipped with an ardillon buckle.
