Fans of Swatch watches will be thrilled to find out that the brand’s famous Swatch & Art Collection welcomes new members. It is remarkable that the new timepieces have been created in cooperation with four contemporary artists and designers relevant to different mediums and styles.

Manish Arora, an Indian fashion designer, has created a Bollywood-inspired ‘movie’ watch featuring a range of playful colors. The watch is named Charmingly Beautiful.

Enki Bilal, a French artist, writer and film director, has worked on two men’s watches reflecting the distinctive style of his graphic novels and comic books. The timepieces are dubbed Too Many Memories and Into Each Other.

Cassette Playa, an English fashion designer, has presented a funny one-eyed men’s watch glowing in the dark. The watch received the name - Playa Look.

Ivan Navarro, a Chilean sculptor and visual artist, has come up with has an exciting image of a skull and crossbones on a mirror. This creation’s name makes a bold statement - You Stop You Die.

These five Swatch new Art Specials watches pay tribute the well-established links between Swatch and Art, dating back to 1985 when Swatch unveiled its first Art Special at the Pompidou Centre in Paris. The success of this first model gave birth to a whole collection of highly original timepieces created in cooperation with artists from around the world.

The list of the art-related people that joined efforts with Swatch to enlarge its Swatch & Art Collection is highlighted by such notable personalities as the sculptor and writer Ted Scapa, the Spanish film director Pedro Almodovar, the well-known painter, and New York City’s ‘urban primitivist’ painter, Billy The Artist, and the French street painter and rapper Grems.
