Hermes Arceau Cheval de Legende Watch -Tribute to Pegasus

Oct 13, 2010
The timepiece maker Hermes is delighted to take the wraps off its new model, dubbed Arceau Cheval de Legende.

Meaning “Legendary Horse”, when translated from French, the unique watch pays tribute to Pegasus, the most fantastic creature in the Greek mythology.

According to the legend this winged divine horse sprang to life from the blood, spilled when the Greek hero Perseus cut the Gorgon Medusa's head off.

Pegasus is artfully depicted on the watch's appealing dial, which represents a highly realistic replication of the night sky. Such a background was a natural choice, since the beautiful horse is also a reference to the eponymous constellation.

This idea is wittily expressed through the tiny dots, sparkling with magic light. Brought together, they form an image of the noble animal.

The artistically designed display of the Hermes watch moves forward with a simple, yet satisfying presentation of just hours and minutes. The brand’s logo is featured at 3 o’clock.

The dial is housed in a white gold case. At 3 o’clock, it exposes a winding crown, manufactured from the same material. The model is built to be water-resistant up to 30 meters.

The absolute precision of the new Arceau Cheval de Legende watch is guaranteed by a self-winding mechanical movement. It runs at the rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 55-hour power reserve.

Adding a final note of harmony to the energetic look of the new Hermes watch is a matching leather strap, which joins to a pin buckle.
