This year, the line welcomes two new additions – the Aquaracer 500M Calibre 5, already reviewed by Watches.Infoniac.com, and the Aquaracer 500m Caliber 16 Automatic Chronograph watch.
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer 500m Caliber 16 Automatic Chronograph watch is created to meet the requirements of professional divers. Being the first chronograph watch to join the line, it demonstrates a robust, fully functional design characterized by perfect visibility and easy handling under water. The watch will guarantee its owner great resilience and safety under any conditions.
The 44mm case is sculptured in polished and fine-brushed steel. The case construction incorporates a unidirectional rotating bezel crafted in fine-brushed steel provided with black coating on the top. The bezel features polished easy-to-grip studs that are grooved on the sides for easy handling, even if the diver is wearing diving gloves.
At 10 o’clock, the watch features an automatic helium valve, extremely useful when the differential between the inner and the outside pressure comes to a critical level.
The black dial embellished with vertical lines is completed with three counters for the chronograph hours at 6 o’clock, chronograph minutes at 12 o’clock and running second at 9 o’clock. You will notice the date window at 3 o’clock provided with a magnifying lens for better legibility.
The heart of the TAG Heuer watch, Caliber 16, based on ETA Valjoux 7750, is a 25-jewel movement, beating at the rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 48-hour power-reserve.
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer 500m Caliber 16 Automatic Chronograph watch is presented on a black rubber strap or a three-row bracelet crafted in fine-brushed steel and featuring a polished central row and edges.
The timepiece is expected to be available starting with October, 2010.
