is proud to unveil its new Altiplano Date watch
. This is the first Altiplano model offering a date display. The novelty represents the world’s thinnest timepiece in its category in terms of both the case and the movement.
of the new Piaget watch
is just 6.36 mm thick
, while its heart is Automatic Caliber 1205P
that is a mere 3 mm thick
. The movement was independently developed and manufactured in-house.
is the 12th movement specifically developed for the Altiplano Collection. It is based on the 1208P
introduced by the brand in 2010. The same as its predecessor, the new 221-part, 27-jewel movement drives an off-centered small seconds display, and for the first time powers the date display. With a balance frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, the movement provides a 44-hour power reserve.
The movement is housed by a specially designed 40 mm case
. You can admire the mechanical beauty via the sapphire crystal case-back. The movement demonstrates fine traditional finishing
, including circular Côtes de Genève, a circular-grained mainplate, sunray-brushed wheels, beveled bridges, blued screws, not to mention a micro-rotor crafted in rose gold and engraved with the Piaget coat of arms.
The Altiplano Date watch is synonymous to elegant understatement and timeless appeal. The case
is sculptured in 18K white gold, 18K rose gold or rose gold with the bezel paved with 72 diamonds.
The three-level dial
is perfectly balanced. The date display is found at 9 o’clock, while the small seconds sub-dial is positioned at 5 o’clock. The dial is completed by an alternating pattern of single and double hour-markers and discreetly bears the inscription “Automatic”.
The new Piaget Altiplano Date watch
is presented on a black alligator leather strap fitted with a white gold pin buckle or a brown alligator leather strap fitted with a rose gold pin buckle.
