It is interesting to mention that Alain Prost has actually been a friend of the Swiss brand since the start of his career with Formula One and they built a close cooperation when he drove for McLaren. The racer was wearing TAG Heuer colors and chronograph watches when he won three of his four FIA Formula One World championships for McLaren in the end of the 1980s.

Alain Prost has highlighted the history of Formula One as the second most prolific winner, with a total of 51 victories, 33 pole positions, 41 best laps and 106 podiums in 199 races in the period of 1980 - 1993. The racer was given the nick “Professor” due to his smooth, relaxed driving style. He also became famous due to his intense competitive edge, having acquired the respect of fellow drivers and the admiration of motor-racing fans all over the world. In 1999, the driver’s achievements were honored with the World Sports Awards of the Century alongside Pele, Muhammed Ali, Carl Lewis and Steffi Graf.

Alain Prost appreciates TAG Heuer watches for their unique DNA in motor-sports and a successful combination of Prestige and Performance. The driver intends to closely work with the brand’s designers on the creation of some specific timepieces.

For the forthcoming “150 Years of Mastering Speed” celebrations, TAG Heuer will continue and strengthen its cooperation with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes in F1, with Audi Sport for Endurance races and at Le Mans 24 Hours, with Indy 500 and with Audi, McLaren GT cars and Tesla Electric Roadster.
