Corum Introduces Admiral's Cup Chronograph 48 Grand Prix Watch

May 13, 2010
Acting as an official partner of the CORUM Grand Prix and the Okalys-CORUM team, Corum is pleased to unveil an official Grand Prix 2010 watch demonstrating the Okalys-Corum team colors.

The heart of the Admiral’s Cup Chronograph 48 Grand Prix watch is an automatic-winding mechanical chronograph movement - caliber CO753. The precision of the 27-jewel movement is guaranteed by the COSC-chronometer certification. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement provides a 42-hour power reserve. The winding rotor is engraved with the brand’s name.

The Corum signature 12-sided case, 48 mm in diameter, is rendered in titanium, the material highly appreciated for its lightness and hardness. The case incorporates locking pushbuttons, being part of the brand’s exclusive lockout system. The crown made is decorated with the Corum key engraving.

The dial, protected by a convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, is framed by a black rubber bezel. The screw-down case-back depicts the Grand Prix CORUM trophy. The case construction is 300-meter water-resistant.

The harmonious grey dial of the new Corum watch is embellished with Cotes de Geneve finish. It provides perfect readability even under reduced light conditions. The minute numerals are provided with an orange luminescent coating, accompanied by the chevrons with a black luminescent coating.

The faceted hour and minute hands are also provided with this luminescent treatment. The chronograph seconds-hand is coated with orange lacquer and features the CORUM key as a counterweight. The minute counter hand found at 3 o’clock and the small seconds hand at 9 o’clock are also accentuated with orange luminescent substance.

You will notice the date window positioned at 3 o’clock. The 12 monochrome nautical pennants, the distinguishing detail of the collection, mark the hours, being transferred on the outer dial ring.

The Corum Admiral’s Cup Chronograph 48 Grand Prix watch is presented on a leather strap with a textile appearance and embellished with orange hand-stitching. It is equipped with a tongue buckle engraved with Corum name.

The timepiece will be issued in a limited edition of 25 pieces and is expected to be available starting with the end of June at authorized points of sale. The retail price is 8, 770 US dollars.
