Inspired by the creative and artistic energy demonstrated by the contemporary art of the Middle East, Girard-Perregaux has joined efforts with the Lebanese artist
Hussein Madi to create a one-of-a-kind timepiece – the
Girard-Perregaux 1966 unique piece.

Hussein Madi performed an interpretation of his famous painting "
The abduction of Europa" that is now presented by the mother-of-pearl dial of the
new Girard-Perregaux watch.
The timepiece is available in
two variations:
- a white gold case presented on a black alligator leather strap;
- a pink gold case embellished with 68 diamonds (1, 50 carats) and coupled with a white alligator leather strap.
The
40mm case is 30-meter water-resistant. It incorporates a non-reflective sapphire crystal case-back. The dial is completed by elegantly thin hour and minute hands and hour markers.

The heart of the
Girard-Perregaux 1966 unique piece is a
mechanical automatic winding movement - Girard-Perregaux GP03000-0060. The 32-jewel movement, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, gives an advantage of a 46-hour power-reserve.
The manufacture and the artist presented their creation to join the
Girard-Perregaux 1966 collection at the contemporary art fair held in Beirut in July.
