Marvin 160 Cushion Kaki Watch - New Times New Codes

Oct 26, 2010
On the occasion of its 160th anniversary, the horological company Marvin has proudly offered an extraordinary 160 Cushion Kaki watch.

Inspired by the Malton Speciale collection, launched in 1966, the new Marvin watch is a perfect illustration of the brand’s credo, “New Time, New Codes”.

The timepiece boasts a charismatic design, based on vivid contrasts. It is available with a cushion-shaped case with the measurements equal to 42 mm x 42 mm. The case is crafted from stainless steel. On the front side, it is armed with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The model is built to be water-resistant up to 50 meters.

As its name suggests, the new 160 Cushion Kaki watch shows off an artfully guilloched Khaki dial. It captures the time with hour, minutes and seconds hands, dressed in white. They coordinate perfectly with hour-markers and large Arabic numerals, performed in the same color. The display also proposes a date indication, arranged in the exhibition window, at 6 o’clock.

The functions presented are driven by a self-winding mechanical Sellita SW200 movement. Elaborately adorned with 26 jewels, it provides a 38-hour power reserve. The new timepiece is teamed with a genuine “khaki vintage” leather strap.

To cater for all tastes, the new Marvin watch has been also released in three other versions. The public can enjoy an interpretation, powered by a self-winding mechanical movement - ETA Valjoux 7750. Embellished with 25 jewels, it offers a 46-hour power reserve.

This mechanism brings to life the basic functions of hours, minutes and seconds, complimented by those of day, date and chronograph. The timepiece exposes a black and silvered dial, upon which the wearer can see chronograph counters, positioned at 6, 12 and 9 o’clock respectively. The date aperture is featured at 3 o’clock.

The next version relies on an ETA G10.211 quartz movement. It serves to animate the functions of hours, minutes and seconds, joined by those of 1/10th of a second, date and chronograph. They are immediate and clear on a black and silvered dial: the minutes, seconds and 1/10th of a seconds counters are positioned at 10, 6 and 2 o’clock correspondingly. They are kept company by a date aperture, nestled between 4 and 5 o’clock.

Completing the range of new Marvin watches is a three-hand version, which accommodates a Ronda 713 quartz movement. This timepiece comes equipped with an appealing quilloched dial.
